Hawrelak Park
This class project was done in collaboration with Deprise Hutton, Lea St. Arnault & Shannon Fidler. We chose to redesign the identity and signage for William Hawrelak Park—a large public outdoor facility for users of all ages. The existing system is in need of improvement; it lacks visual interest and information. The signage should accommodate all information a park user may need including park hours, available amenities, navigational information and park regulations. Because this is an outdoor facility, signage must be readable in both light and dark conditions and able to withstand varying weather conditions including heat, rain, snow and below freezing temperatures. Overall, we needed to design a new identity and signage system that adds to the pleasure and ease of visiting the park.
