A Happiness Project
This self-directed project was an opportunity to use design for something that really matters to me—mental health and well-being. General happiness levels should be higher for many people. Mental illness is very prevalent. Suicide is way too common. The world takes a toll on everyone, but some are affected much worse than others and I wanted the chance to provide people with happiness, even just a small amount, because these small things can make the world of a difference. I conducted primary and secondary research to find out what helps to make people happy. Turns out, humour, love and reassurance are big factors to increasing ones happiness. I used these things as the inspiration behind these silly, uplifting cards. In hopes of making people smile when they may be having an otherwise grey day, I designed a series of small print pieces and put out anonymously for people to find.
